Why are you still waiting for the right time to get fit?

You are busy and hectic. Your family member is sick. Your job is demanding. You are focused on planning a big life event. Your kids are pulling you in a million different directions. You’re an emotional eater…and now is an emotional time.

There are a million and more excuses for why you haven’t made your body a priority…yet. At the back of your mind you believe that the day will come when you are ready to take action in getting back in shape.

But that right time hasn’t come.

Let’s be honest with each other right now: the right time to get fit won’t ever magically appear.

There will always be another life event to navigate.

There’s always going to be someone you know who is sick…and you’ll even get sick at times.

You will always have a reason to emotionally eat, if you allow yourself that chaos.

So what’s the solution? Drift through life in a body that you aren’t happy with? Avoid mirrors and bathing suits and sleeveless tops? Comfort yourself with the thought that you’ll dial in your fitness one day…just not today?

I’d like you to consider that the right time to get fit is RIGHT NOW. Not despite your current life challenges but BECAUSE of them.

How much more effective do you think you’ll be dealing with a busy schedule, sick relatives, big life events and active kids when you’re living in a confident, functional, energized body? Loads more effective!

Consider your current challenges as reasons why you MUST get fit NOW rather than excuses as to why you CAN’T get fit now. I know you can do this. I know because I’ve seen hundreds of women come through our doors who didn’t think they could - and they proved themselves wrong.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Here's some thoughts to get you started -

1. Think Small. Okay, so this sounds contradictory, but here's the thing: how overwhelming does your "big goal" feel? Probably overwhelming enough to keep you on the sideline. Instead of thinking about "all" that you have to accomplish, what about breaking that in half, and in half again, and maybe 8 more times?

Two pounds feels more realistic than 20, and a half mile feels more achievable than a half marathon - you don't have to conquer it all at once, and by breaking it into small chunks, you'll find it's realistic enough to pursue.

2. Act small. You don't have to overhaul everything all at once. In fact, that's a guaranteed way to not reach your goals. Pick one thing that you can master, and work on that until you have it mastered. Maybe it's eating breakfast three days a week. Maybe it's exercising twice a week. Whatever it is, if you focus on building habits, rather than getting fast results, the changes will come in greater supply.

3. Speak big. Let me clue you into something: you're not broken. You don't need fixing. It's time to stop speaking down to yourself, because self talk is powerful. Instead, speak to yourself the way you'd want others to speak to your daughter, or your mother, or your best friend. Speak big words of kindness to yourself, because you're valuable and capable and significant - and see if you don't puff up a bit and feel like you've got what it takes to make that first step. (Because, you do!)

4. Get on a team! We want to be the ones to empower you to realize your full potential. We believe you have what it takes - and we can't wait to prove it to you.
