The truth about fear

It’s easy to think that the ones out there doing the things are fearless, some kind of special beings that have it all together, but that’s not the case. Not even by a long shot.
Like thick fog on a cool morning, fear masks reality and lies, convincing us that we don’t have what it takes. It’s a defense mechanism our brains have to protect us from the unknown, no matter how fantastic that place may be. It’s something we have the power to overcome, if only we would be bold enough to unlock our full potential.
Here’s the thing: fearless isn’t the goal. Courage, bravery and confidence are the things to achieve. These are things we gain by looking fear in the face and boldly walking through it. And, in doing so, we create a new future for ourselves.
Every fear that we face, and endure, makes us stronger for the next thing that comes along. And, believe me, more things will come. As long as we have breath in our lungs there will be mountains to climb, valleys to scale, opposition to overcome.
The only way to avoid this is to not live.
So today, I ask you – what’s your fear? What’s the thing holding you back from experiencing the life you truly want? Rejection, pain, discomfort, judgment, incompetence - these are all valid concerns, but they’re stopping you from living your best life. 

Imagine for a moment what it would be like if these things didn’t hold you back, if you could see them for the fog they really are and have the strength and confidence to walk through it. This doesn’t require any kind of super power, just a simple restructuring of your mind.
